先知發現有人密謀陷害他。有些人想要他的命，想要將他連根拔起，永遠遺忘他，徹底毀滅他。順便一提，先知的職責之一就是「拔除」那些抵擋主道的人。

先知無力反抗。他唯一的力量，唯一的武器，就是向主祈求。他祈求主恢復他所理解的公義；因此，他祈求主為他伸冤。

在許多情況下，我們或許會覺得自己處境與先知相似。就像他一樣，我們也可以求助於禱告；然而，根據耶穌的教導，我們現在應當為那些傷害我們的人祈求。

The prophet discovers a plot against him. Some people want him dead, uprooted, forgotten forever, destroyed. Among the prophet’s tasks, there was that of “uprooting” those who resisted the word of the Lord.

The prophet has no way to resist them. His only strength, his only weapon is to appeal to the Lord. He asks for the reestablishment of justice, as he can understand it; therefore, he asks the Lord to vindicate him.

In many occasions, we might feel that we are in a situation like that of the prophet. As he did, we too can recur to prayer; now, however, according to the words of Jesus, our prayer should be in favor of those who harm us.
