We read today part of the text that explains which will be the body of the resurrection.
Paul tries to offer some analogies, to say that the resurrected body will be a spiritual body.
To better understand how Paul uses and explains these analogies, it is advisable to read the entire chapter.
In any case, in the frame of the biblical conception of human life, a life that is ruled by the relationship with God, the body is not opposed to the spirit.
Therefore, the notion of spiritual body is clear and acceptable: a body totally pervaded by God’s power, fully immersed in God’s love.
For the Greeks, however, invisible and immortal spirit is totally opposed to visible, material and mortal body. A spiritual body is a contradiction.
Such different approaches to human life are also a sort of challenge for us: we can try to live a spiritual life, a life fully immersed in God’s love, and try to feel whether Paul’s words, that in this way we form one spirit with the Lord, are true for us too.
