Today’s reading prepares the Hew Testament in an astounding way. The glory of God, the sanctification of His Holy Name, the change of heart, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, the purification through water, the sanctification of God’s people, gathered from among all peoples: all these themes will become reality at the coming of Jesus.
