He offers a set of reasons for them to be generous, the last of which is his trust in God’s generosity. He will help those who give joyously with a new abundance of His gifts. They therefore will be in the condition of being even more generous: “ You will be enriched in every way for great generosity, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.”

This last point is important for Paul: he sees the whole Christian life as a great thanksgiving to God. In our life, there is only this thing to do: to thank God and to increase, if possible, the thanksgiving by a greater generosity.
