Some of the visions of the Prophet Ezekiel open new chapters in the history of the religion of Israel.

Today we learn that the people of Israel is not an indistinct collectivity. Instead, inside Israel, each one of the Israelites has his or her own responsibility. Then, we learn that the Glory of God, His presence, can abandon the Temple. There is a distinction between the Lord and the place of His rest among the chosen people. From now on the Glory of God can stay in other places, different from the Temple of Jerusalem.

These two important new lessons in the history of the religion of Israel teach us to be ready and learn what the Lord teaches us every day.

A detail: at the times of Ezekiel, the Jews used the ancient Hebrew alphabet. According to that alphabet, the letter “tau” was written as a “x”, it resembled the form of the cross.
