Ben Sirach praises the great fathers of Israel. It is the way to keep them alive, in the memory of the Chosen People, whose days “are without number” (Sir37:25).

This was before the resurrection of Jesus.

Now, things are different. The good thief asked: “Jesus, please remember me when you will be in your kingdom;” together with him now we live in Jesus and in Him enjoy eternal life.

Therefore, the saints that are in Heaven are also with us, because they are in Jesus and He lives in us.

To feel that we are part of the communion of saints gives us incredible joy and courage. We belong to the true and real city; we are not lost in cities that are more similar to deserts.
