他信賴上主的恩典，甚至超越了他所能理解的範疇；他鼓勵所有人——或許所有人都喜歡他。

他有智慧去發現那個在當時情況下擁有特殊恩典的人：保祿。他之前已經幫助過保祿，並將他介紹給了宗徒們。

現在，他先尋找保祿，這並非易事，直到找到他為止。

然後，他鼓勵保祿再次嘗試。這一次，他們成功了。

總而言之，聖納博的身份和神恩在於他本身就是教會。他所追求的只是為了教會的益處，沒有別的計劃。

他是值得效法的榜樣：我們每天都更需要效法他，按照他的精神而生活。

Luke portrays Saint Barnabas as a rather shy man. He does not take the leading role; he is strong at working together with others.

He has the wisdom to recognize the work of God’s grace, even if perhaps he was surprised by the new converts and the way they expressed their faith. He trusts God’s grace, even beyond what he can understand; he encourages all – and perhaps all liked him.

He has the wisdom to identify the man that has a special grace for that situation: Paul. He had already helped Paul and introduced him to the Apostles. Now he first looks for Paul, not an easy task, till he finds him. He then encourages Paul to try again. This time they are successful.

In a word. Barnabas’ identity and charism is to be a man that at the same time is Church. What he looks for is the good of the Church, nothing else. He is an example to imitate: every day it is more necessary to imitate him, to live according to his spirit.
