我們在第一篇讀經中讀到的是不同宗教信仰的人之間積極對話的經驗。

厄利亞奉主的旨意來到異鄉。

顯然，那位寡婦認出了他既是外邦人又是先知。

事實上，當她與厄利亞交談時，她提到了以色列的天主。

厄利亞首先向她提出的要求是信心的考驗：她需要信任厄利亞和他的話語。

她照做了，並得到了天主的回應：憑藉奇蹟，即使在嚴重的飢荒中，他們也能長期生存下去。

人與人之間的對話是創造奇蹟的途徑。

What we read in the first reading is an experience of positive dialogue between people of different religions. On the word of the Lord, Elijiah moves to a foreign place. Apparently, the widow has a way to recognize that he is a foreigner and a prophet. Indeed, when she talks to Elijiah, she mentions the God of Israel.

What Elijiah asks her first is an act of faith: she needs to trust him and his words. She does that and receives God’s answer: by miracle they can survive for a long time even during the heavy famine.

Interpersonal dialogue is a way for miracles.
