Some of the words of this reading are among the most famous in the New Testament: “He learnt obedience from what he suffered and, made perfect (in the OT this word signifies also the consecration of priests) he became cause of salvation for all those who obey him.”
These words are full of mysteries, however, besides contemplating through them the sufferings of Jesus, we may learn something for ourselves: suffering is a blessing in disguise, because it allows us to enter the mystery of Jesus and through him into the life of God.
We may thus ready ourselves to willingly accept the sufferings that come to us every day, the little ones as well as the great ones.
