During nighttime, while all is dark, the church celebrates and awaits the Resurrection of Jesus.
The same happens in baptism. We enter in a mysterious night, which is the death of Jesus, because we discover that only that darkness, Jesus’ darkness, prepares eternal life.
That darkness is a way of living as nailed to his cross, a life hidden with him in God.
We need to reflect about why we chose baptism and not other ways of life. We will call ourselves blessed and invite many to join us in this vigil, a vigil of one night and of the whole life.
