In this third song, the Servant of God shares about the hardships of his mission.

What looks surprising is the fact that the Servant links his sufferings, the violence he receives from his enemies to the teaching that he receives from the Lord.

It looks as if the Lord is teaching him through suffering and the Servant is faithful in learning such painful lessons.

Not only: such school enables the Servant to say consoling and encouraging words to those who undergo any sort of trial. His sufferings console, in a mysterious way, those who are in the same situation as he is.

The mission of the Servant gets a surprising turn, a turn that makes it really universal, because all suffer and need his consolation.
