先知以言語表達了以色列百姓最大的盼望：在被擄之後重返應許之地。

然而，先知並未忘記歷史的教訓。

回歸之後，生活將與被擄之前截然不同。

那時，天主的聖殿將成為他們生活的中心，祂的同在將賦予他們生命意義和目標。

這新的盟約將來並沒有其他的目的，而是只有為了與天主相交，永遠敬拜祂的榮耀。

如此，這新的子民將向萬國彰顯天主是誰。

The prophet gives voice and words to what is the greatest hope of the people of Israel: to return to the promised land after the exile.

However, the prophet does not forget the lesson of history. After the return, life will not be the same as before exile. At that time, the Temple of the Lord will be the center of their life, his presence among them will give meaning and purpose to their days.

The new covenant will not be in view of other purposes. The only purpose will be living in communion with the Lord, in a perpetual adoration of his glory.

In this way, the new people will manifest to all nations who the Lord is.
