In the first part of the book, the author compares the choices and the destinies of the wicked and of the righteous.
The key difference, the difference on which depends the choice of the kind of life to live, is in the ending. Such ending is everlasting.
On the one side, there is eternal doom; on the other side there is eternal life.
The author has some difficulties in describing how such eternal life will be.
However, he is clear on one point: eternal life is communion with God, it is living in his presence and enjoying the vision of His glorious countenance.
This is what give us hope even now; this is what we can strive to reach, even if not in the full revelation of Heaven.
