保祿現在談到教會所領受的特殊恩典，這恩典是為了共同的益處，是為了使耶穌奧體的奧秘得以完全成熟。

這與書信的第一部分有相似之處：正如天主賜給了耶穌作為教會的首，如今耶穌也賜給一些人作為使徒和教師，以促進教會的成長。

此外，還有第三個層面：教會團體與「教會之外的人」的關係。

這種努力使教會得以成長，最終完全彰顯天主的恩典，也使教會成為天主救恩計劃的活見證，並為許多人分享這計劃提供了途徑。

Paul now speaks of the special graces received in the Church, for the common good, the growth towards the full maturity of the mystical body of Jesus.

There is a parallelism with the first part of the letter: in the same way as God gave Jesus as the head of the Church, so now Jesus gives some people as apostles and teachers for the growth of the Church.

Then there is a third horizon: the relationship of the community with “those who are outside.” The tension to grow towards the full revelation of God’s grace makes the Church a living witness of God’s plan of salvation and the way for many to share in it.
