In his talking to the Galatians, Paul abruptly reproaches them (some fo them), because they are at risk of accepting a different interpretation of Jesus and of the salvation he has brought to all.

Paul focuses on “the gospel” (we can understand this word not simply as the first announcement of Jesus’ death and resurrection, but as an interpretation of such an event) and on his personal relationship with it. In preaching the gospel, he does not seek to please men; he seeks to please God, because it was God himself who revealed him the role of Jesus in his plan of salvation.

The gospel creates a bond with the messenger, to the point that the messenger becomes part of the gospel.
