先知的話語保證了上主的計畫──從被擄之地回歸耶路撒冷──必將實現。

這對即將踏上未知旅程的人們來說，是莫大的鼓勵：他們不知道在祖先五十多年前離開的這片土地上，將會遇到什麼。

這些話語能夠賦予我們個人屬靈委身之旅意義，並幫助我們克服某種恐懼（「如果我答應主，我會怎麼樣？」）。

這些話也賦予整個宇宙歷史意義。

上主的聖言，耶穌，將把一個被愛改變的世界帶回天父面前。

祂今天正在透過我們，在我們身上成就這一切。

The prophet’s words give assurance that God’s plan – the return to Jerusalem from the exile – will be fulfilled. It is a strong encouragement to those who are about to set out for an uncharted journey: they do not know what they will find in the land their fathers had left more than fifty years before.

These words can give meaning to our personal journey of spiritual commitment and overcome a kind of fear (“If I say yes to the Lord, what will happen to me?”). They give meaning to the entire history of the universe. God’s Word, Jesus, will bring back to the Heavenly Father a world transformed by love. He is doing this today to us and through us.
