首先，我們並非孤單一人：我們靠著天主的力量面對苦難。

其次，勸勉的理由在於天主已經為我們所成就的一切。祂從亙古就呼召我們歸向祂。不僅如此，祂也藉著耶穌及其啟示向我們顯明了我們的使命。祂的死亡和復活如今不僅帶給我們生命，也藉著福音的宣揚帶給所有人生命。因此，這賜給眾人的偉大恩典就在我們手中。我們可以與眾人分享。即便我們需要為傳福音付出一些代價，那也並非問題，而是我們的榮耀。

Paul goes from the conclusion to the foundations, from his exhortations to their reasons. Why should we face suffering and even persecution for the Gospel?

First, we are not alone: we face suffering with the power of God.

Second, the reason for the exhortation is what God has already done for us. He has called us to himself, from eternity. Even more, he has shown us our vocation through Jesus and his revelation. His death and resurrection now bring life not only to us, but to all, through the announcement of the good news. Therefore, the great gift to all is in our hands. We can share it with many. If we need to pay some price to spread the gospel, that is not a problem, it is our glory.
