如同整個受造界一樣，我們內心深處也蘊藏著對造物主的渴望。

在我們身上，這種渴望以信仰的形式展現出來。

我們信賴某件事，或信賴與之相反的事物；無論我們信仰的對像是什麼，我們都無法抗拒地相信。

那些說「我不信」的人其實自相矛盾。他們相信自己不信。

差別不在於信與不信，而在於信仰的對象。

如果你相信其他任何事物（你自己、你的金錢、你的信念），卻不信靠上主，那麼你所飲用的泉源終將乾涸，你也將隨之枯萎。

信靠上主使我們的生命日更新。

Embedded in our being, as in the whole creation, is the longing for the Creator. In us it takes the form of faith. We trust in something, or in its contrary; whatever the object of our faith, we cannot but believe. Those who say “I do not believe” are contradicting themselves. They believe that they do not believe.

The difference is not between believing and not believing. The difference is in the object of faith. If you believe in whatever else (yourself, your money, your convictions) and do not trust God, the fountain where you drink will dry, and you will wither with it. Trusting in God makes our lives new every day.
