然而，他真正想要達成的，是人們的悔改以及行為的改變，從而獲得上主的應許。否則，那些不悔改的人將面臨上主的懲罰。

如今，獎賞不再是物質的東西──物質固然美好，但卻有限。

如今的獎賞是與上主相遇，獲得完全的幸福。  

In the history of all cultures, some cities become symbols of something. The Bible is no exception. As an example: Babel has become symbol of confusion due to human pride.

In the same way, Sodom and Gomorrah are symbols of a specific sin, and of God’s punishment. Since he used the names of the two villages, probably the prophet did not forget such symbology. However, what he wants to achieve is conversion and change of behavior, to obtain God’s promises. Otherwise, there is his punishment awaiting those who do not convert. Now the prize is not something material, which is good, but limited. Now the prize is the vision of God, perfect happiness.
