February 17 Tuesday of the Sixth Week Ordinary Time

James highlights two opposite paths: the path that originates in the work of the devil, who arouses passions in our hearts, and leads to death; and the path that originates in the love of the Father and lets us share in the new world of eternal life.

Opposite to passions is the “word of truth.” Such phrase may refer to the words now engraved in the Holy Scripture; it may refer also to Jesus. When we listen to His words we walk on the path of life.

This can be the great blessing we ask the Lord for the New Year and wish each other.
