In parallel to the report of what he did when he came to Corinth for the first time, now Paul explains why at that time he could not share with them the mysterious wisdom of the mature disciples.
They we not ready yet.
Unfortunately, after so much time, they are still immature, because they do not go beyond what a teacher says, they do not feel the mystery of God (by going beyond words to reach God’s mind, God’s inspiration). Instead, they possess, they enjoy the doctrines of those teachers and take pride in them.
Therefore, Paul tries to let the Corinthians perceive that who works in them is not a teacher with his explanations, but the grace of God. There is a direct communication between God and each believer.
This also means that there is a solitude in front of him, the space of a personal decision, the acceptance of the mystery of the cross of Jesus.
No teacher can, no teacher is allowed to shadow us from the power of God’s light.
Teachers perhaps are trainers, but when it comes to the game, we are those who need to play.
