在《希伯來書》2:17中，作者闡述了兩個主題：

「他凡事該與他的弟兄相同，為要在上主的事上成為慈悲忠信的大司祭，為百姓的罪獻上贖罪祭。」

作者所闡述的兩個主題就是：

耶穌，這位大司祭，是天主與人之間「慈悲」以及「忠信」的中保。

今天，我們讀到耶穌如何成為慈悲的大司祭。在祂塵世的生命中，祂藉著苦難，與祂的弟兄姊妹一同承受軟弱，順服天父的旨意。

這樣，祂藉著分擔苦難，為所有信祂的人開闢了通往天父的道路。

苦難是學習順服、藉著耶穌與天父共融的途徑。

In Ch. 2:17, the author of the Letter of the Hebrews announces two themes:

“He had to be made like his brethren in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make expiation for the sins of the people.”

Jesus, the High Prist is the merciful and faithful mediator between God and humankind.

Today, we read how Jesus is the merciful high Priest. Through suffering, during his mortal life, he shared the weakness of his brothers and sisters, obedient to the will of the Father.

In this way, he opened to all those who believe in him the way to the Father, by sharing in his sufferings. Suffering is the way to learn obedience and enter communion with God, through Jesus.
