第七印揭開時，七位天使出現，每位手持一支號角。

At the opening of the seventh seal, seven angels appear, each one of them with a trumpet. They play the first four trumpets, and increasingly terrible punishments afflict the world. Before the last three trumpets, an eagle appears in the sky and announces three woes at the sound of the last three trumpets. The events taking place at the woes are increasingly connected with the history of salvation.

The vision of the woman in heaven

accompanies the third woe and it is a sort of culmination.

The woman gives birth to the Messiah. Contextually, Satan is driven out of heaven and made fall on the earth. Then, he fights with the woman and the remnant of her descendants, those who believe in Jesus.

The woman in heaven may symbolize the people of Israel, and in it the city of Jerusalem, then the Temple and in it the Ark of the Covenant. The woman symbolizes Mary, the mother of the Messiah, and the Church who suffers persecution in her sons and daughters.

The glorious presentation of the woman can also be interpreted as announcement of the future glorification of Mary through Her assumption in heaven.
