Saint Peter suggests the disciples to eagerly await the coming of the Lord; even more, he suggests that by their commitment to live a holy life, in prayer, they hasten His coming.

Usually, when we wait for some important events, we feel that the time becomes longer and longer. With Jesus, Peter tells us, it is the opposite: the more we desire Him, the sooner he comes and brings us all graces.
