May 12 Sixth Week of Easter Tuesday First Reading

Today’s story is even more amazing than the one of yesterday. How is it possible that at the end of such a perilous day Paul and Silas are still in such peace and joy to sing hymns to the Lord?

How is it possible that Paul is so concerned about the jailer as to shout those reassuring words that saved his life and even his soul?

That long night looks like the night when the disciples returned from Emmaus to Jerusalem. Night of amazement and joy.

This is one of the pages of the Bible where we can learn how to announce the gospel, by forgetting our troubles, by singing hymns to the Lord, by caring about our neighbor and let him know whom to adore and love.
