在寫給斐理伯教會的問候語中，保祿並沒有說「寫給斐理伯教會」，而是將收信人分別指稱。

這是為什麼呢？

一個可能的解釋是：斐理伯的信徒已經向保祿展現了他們在信仰上的成熟，以及他們積極參與福音傳播的熱情。

因此，隨著他們信仰的日漸成熟，他們獨特的屬靈生命也逐漸顯現，保祿對此表示認可。

事實上，他向天主所祈求的是他們的愛心在認識和感受聖神的工作上不斷增長，使他們能夠分辨何為最佳的行事方式，從而為天主的國度結出豐盛的果實。

保祿為我們指明了一條道路：透過積極地為教會服務，我們的屬靈生命將會成長，並讓我們更豐盛地享受聖神的同在和恩典。

In the address of the Letter to the Philippians, Paul does not say: “to the Church of Philippi.” Instead, he mentions the addressees as distinct persons. Why?

One possible answer is: the believers of Philippi have already shown to Paul their maturity in faith and their active cooperation to the growth of the Gospel.

Therefore, with the increase of their maturity, their distinctive spiritual personality too becomes visible, and Paul acknowledges this.

Indeed, he prays that their love grow in knowledge and capacity of feeling the work of the Holy Spirit, so that they can discern which is the best line of conduct and so reap abundant fruit for the Kingdom of God.

Paul shows the path we all can walk on: by actively work for the Church, our spiritual life will grow and let us enjoy in an ever fuller way the presence and grace of the Holy Spirit.
