February 26 Thursday of the First Week of Lent

Queen Esther lives in extreme solitude. She is an orphan; the court is a foreign land for her; together with her people she is in mortal danger; on top of that, she is compelled to a decision (to go and see the king) that is contrary to her passive acceptance of contact with a non-Jew.

Such extreme situations can happen in our lives.

Esther becomes a great example. Before she uses words to pray, the prostration of her body from morning to evening indicates her total trust in the Lord. Words and actions: everything of what she is turned to Him.
