At the end of the Book of Proverbs we find this wise prayer. The author asks the Lord to give him just what he needs for his material life, not more, nor less.
We can also read, in between the lines, the positive fruits of a simple life: humility, trust in God, justice.
Not to be overly worried about material goods leaves us time to dedicate ourselves and our time to the Lord. He is the great good our souls need, of Him it is impossible to have too much.
