信徒們住在那裡，但他們的生活方式與巴比倫城截然不同。相反，他們像耶穌的家人一樣生活。這一點可以從宗徒伯多稱呼瑪谷的方式看出。瑪谷因著信仰和團契，是伯多的兒子。

從瑪谷福音中，我們了解到耶穌總是以令人驚訝的方式與我們同在。我們之所以成為他的家人，是因為我們始終跟隨他，即使身處內外紛亂之中。

According to tradition, the name of Babylon was symbolic and indicated the city of Rome.

In the Bible, Babylon symbolizes chaos, all sort of vices and enmity to God.

The community of believers lives there, but not according to the way of life of that city. On the contrary, they live as Jesus’ family. We see this in the way the Apostle Peter calls Mark. He is his son, according to faith and communion.

From Mark’s Gospel we learn about the always surprising presence of Jesus among us. We are his family because we continue following him, even in the middle of the confusion inside and outside us.
